WRAP PORTFOLIO

Synthesis

WOVEN BY ALLISON

June 2017

A unique piece between two wrap dye jobs, using leftover dye for both warp and weft, this piece was truly a fusion of creativity and pretty unpredictable. All the pieces came together to create "Synthesis."

Synthesis features a hand-dyed ring spun 8/2 cotton warp in mostly shades of teal and blues, gradually changing to dark brown, greens, and cream/tan tones on one rail at about 1.85m. The weft is hand-dyed 12/2 supima cotton in colors of fuchsia, blue, green, and purple.

It is a one of a kind, short 2.6m piece woven in a crackle weave. It is medium thin with some variegated color pooling with the weft throughout the length.
